Adopting the persona of a "lectrice errante", Anne reads, wanders, muses on reading and invites suggestions and comments about books and/or on reading. The project runs from 14 November 2005 - 14 November 2006.

Ya, it's interesting isn't it. Off-season, university residences become 'cheap hotels'. Lots of young, errant international travellers pass through. I wondered why they made this sign. I thought it was funny/poignant/bold. It could be that it works well. Perhaps they've tried it elsewhere with success. They are just passing through, after all. What's the risk for them? You and I are "Canadian chicks" who would not "come in". Some Canadian chicks would be drawn to the idea/fantasy of "4 French men" and would "come in" willingly. We're all looking for something.
P.S. It's been more than a week since I took this photo. I went back to the spot today and the sign is still up. What are the chances that the "4 French Men" are still there? Should we go and find out?
Wisely said, Winnie.
