Two Cartoons;Or, reading D&G just before Xmas with the Carpenters running interference
In fact, the self is only a threshold, a door, a becoming between two multiplicities.
Each multiplicity is defined by a borderline functioning as Anomolous
Functions of the Anomolous:
1. borders each multiplicity
2. determines stability
3. precondition for the alliance necessary to becoming
4. carries the transformations of becoming or crossing of multiplicities always farther down the line of flight
They speak of dangers...on a continuum from poodles to Ahab-like self-destruction

I show people how to make location floorplans, useful diagrams of a potential shooting location for films. One point that comes up over and over is that students, when indicating a kitchen, tend to show, in proper context, four spirals in a square with the word "stove" printed next to it. I tell them to leave the text out because the diagram says it all.
Now this morning I was taking a walk and passed a woman dressed head to toe in red, with dyed red hair (like paint spilled on it, or the way Carrie dyed her hair at the grad) and walking slow with a glowering red face. Her leather jacket had a silkscreened sign on the back which read "I HATE YOU." The text made the visual redundant and opened the whole statement up for debate. I didn't debate her on the street though, but, took comfort in the fact that people like to offer messages. The guy on the skytrain, Thursday night, did this whole monochrome sartorial trip but in yellow *with no text message* and it conveyed a way more "seething" effect.

I'm still figuring out basic HTML. I can post images in a posting but haven't figured out how to do that in a comment yet.
but this is quite a coincidence...
I finally obtained a copy of the D&G book you've been referring to Anne. I just started reading it and find it fun and frolicky!
The kids and I were making exquisite cadavers yesterday. Ridley uses words and diagrams, Cosima has an excellent anime style and a lexicon of hieroglyphics, and I tend to include landscape or surroundings with my portion of the overall drawing. The pictures started to get interesting after a few rounds and coincidental non-sequitors occurred so that the overall drawing appeared integrated or thematic and yet at the same time, the individual styles became more and more distinct. We had so much fun and liked our collaborations so much we made a date to draw again next Tuesday. I can't fit them on the scanner or I'd show you. It'll be interesting to see if we continue where we left off
(developing trust, letting accidents happen) or if we'll have to meet all over again.
